The Fern

studio(1) shaping
human-led narratives
with truth, empathy,
& craft(2)
A well-told story can change how people think, feel, and act.
Everything we do begins here.
Stories shape belief before they shape behaviour. They influence what is seen, what is valued, and what endures. When told without care, they flatten experience. When handled with intention, they create understanding, connection, and movement.
At The Fern House, we follow the story, wherever it leads. Not to impose meaning, but to uncover it. Not to chase spectacle, but to stay faithful to truth.
We find and tell stories.
Each project begins in a different place, but the work is always the same. We listen, we interpret, and we shape what already exists into something that can move and be understood by others.
Below are the kinds of stories we love working on:
Stories of people behind what is built
Every brand begins with a person. We work with founders to understand the human story behind the work they have created.
Not the polished version, but the real sequence of decisions, risks, and turning points that led them where they are — stories that sit underneath everything else and give context to what people see on the surface.
Stories that help people understand how to use a product or service with ease.
Explainer videos that show, step by step, how something works and how it can be used in the best possible way.
Our focus is simple: to remove ambiguity without taking from the meaning, translating what you offer into something people can see, follow, and understand clearly.
Stories observed closely
There are stories that need careful excavation. They have great depth and reveal the nature and history of people, things and places.
We take on documentary work that sits in this space — human experiences, cultural shifts — observing first, then creatively shaping our findings so they can be understood by others without losing their truth.
Stories shaped from essence
Some stories are not yet fully formed. They exist in feeling, in intention, in the idea of what something could become.
In these cases, we begin with what is present and work closely with it until it becomes clear enough to hold its own shape in the world. This could be a brand, a campaign, a moment, or an idea that needs structure to be understood.
We do not impose direction. We uncover it.
Listen. Begin with context, listening closely while allowing the heart of the story to reveal itself.
Craft. Interpret what we’ve heard, shaping a narrative that feels clear, grounded, and genuine.
Create. The story takes form. Ideas are translated into visual language with care and intentionality.
Refine. Through editing and post-production, we bring the story into its final shape and prepare it to meet its audience.
Let's tell your story.
